Event Description
Continuing Education classroom and self study courses approved by the Iowa Department of Insurance.
The classroom course will provide 3 Ethics hours and 3 General hours, and the self-study will provide 6 General hours. If you already have your 3 Ethics hours, these hours will then just count toward your overall general total.
Classroom Topics: (General) This session will cover financial literacy, retirement planning and complex insurance/financial products including pension plans, long-term care insurance, annuities and credit default swaps, among others. Heath care reform will also be discussed including a review of our Health Care System and comparison to other developed nations. Implications of health care reform to social programs such as Medicare and Medicaid will also be presented. (Ethics) The ethics portion of our class will discuss reputation and reputational risk management for agents and intermediaries including material on reputation building and tools and techniques that can be used to manage reputational risks.
Self Study Topics: The self study materials will compliment the classroom topics. Readings will cover reputation and reputational risk management, financial literacy and retirement planning and health care issues and the reform of our health care system.
